Your care sequence

Hold cleaning/refinishing work until the condition is assessed. This planner cannot clear a deck for use.

  1. 01

    Pause surface work

Loose parts, suspected decay or unknown condition need an on-site assessment before cleaning, sanding or recoating. Restrict use if safety is in doubt.

  2. 02

    Identify the coating

Find prior product records. Before disturbing an unknown old painted coating, address lead hazards and applicable work requirements. Do not use aggressive sanding as an identification test.

  3. 03

    Resolve wetting and drying

Identify persistent wetting, trapped debris or a leak. Dry appearance alone does not establish readiness; use the product’s moisture and weather criteria.

  4. 04

    Clean to the agreed outcome

Use the least aggressive compatible method established by the test. A cleaning project need not force a color change or a new film finish.

  5. 05

    Inspect and record

Keep the product label, batch, date, weather notes and photographs. Set a review reminder around actual exposure and performance; do not substitute a calendar interval for inspection.
